1st - 4th Grade Mariner Cheer - Winter

Let's go, Mariners! Join former Mariners Varsity Cheerleader Sophie Betzler for a fun season of youth cheerleading! 

Cheerleaders will learn basic cheers, motions, jumps, and simple routines while building confidence, teamwork, and Mariner pride. 

No previous cheer experience is needed. Come ready to learn, have fun, and show your Mariner spirit!!

Uniforms

Cheerleaders will need a Mariner blue t-shirt, royal blue and white poms, and a matching cheer bow. Families will be responsible for purchasing the following items:

• Poms: Two Color Plastic Mix Pom – Select Royal/White.
• Bow: Cheer Fantastic 2-Color Basic Bow – Select Royal/White.
• Shirt: Any Mariner blue t-shirt, with or without a Mariners logo or design

Snacks & Water

• Cheerleaders should bring a healthy after-school snack to enjoy before practice. Good options include fruit, cheese sticks, crackers, or pretzels. Please avoid candy and sugary snacks.
• Each cheerleader should also bring a water bottle to stay hydrated before and during practice.

Practice Expectations

• Cheerleaders should wear comfortable clothing they can move in, such as leggings, sweatpants, shorts, and a t-shirt, along with athletic shoes.
• For Friday practices, cheerleaders should arrive at least 5 minutes before practice begins.
• Families are expected to pick up their cheerleaders promptly when practice ends. The designated pickup doors are TBD.

Attendance

• Regular attendance is important! Cheerleaders will be learning and practicing routines together in preparation for performances. If your child is unable to attend practice, please notify the coach as soon as possible.
• For after-school practices, please send a note to your child's teacher listing the cheerleading dates so they can be dismissed to the designated practice location (TBD).
• Cheerleaders who miss too many practices leading up to a performance may not be able to participate in that performance if they have not had enough time to learn the routine.

Communication

All team communication, including practice reminders, updates, and important announcements, will be shared through the Band App. Once registered, families will receive an invitation to join the team's Band group.
