The Long-Term Care Puzzle - How Powers of Attorney, Trusts, Insurance, and Medical Assistance Fit Together

Courses - Two Harbors -
Fall 2026

Many families assume that long-term care planning is simply a matter of purchasing insurance or signing a power of attorney. In reality, successful planning requires several pieces working together. This presentation will explore how powers of attorney, health care directives, trusts, long-term care insurance, Medical Assistance planning, and family decision-making each play a role in protecting independence, preserving assets, and reducing stress during a health care crisis.

Participants will learn practical strategies for planning ahead, avoiding common mistakes, and understanding the options available before care is needed.
