What should we expect at ECFE? When you arrive at a Mixed Age Session all teachers are present and the room is set with carefully planned activities for you & our children to enjoy together. After Parent & Child Time we will clean up and have a brief Circle Time to help children get to know each other’s names & develop literacy skills. After Circle Time the children will settle in for Snack & the parents will move to the parent room for discussion. During Parent Time, children will have more free play time in the classroom followed by cleanup time and a final Circle Time. Parents will return to the children’s room at the end of class. Please feel free to bring a comfort item that will help your child with separation, if needed.

Early Childhood Screening is recommended at age 3 and required for all children before they enter kindergarten. Screening includes a quick check of a child's development, hearing and vision screening, height & weight and social emotional development. Resources and recommendations will be shared. Children need to complete Early Childhood Screening only once between the age of 3 and 5 years of age.

Early Childhood Screening is a check on how your child is growing and developing. Early Childhood Screening helps you find out how your child is doing & connect you and your child to early childhood programs and other community services. What happens during Screening? Trained professionals will check your child’s: Vision & Hearing Health History Immunization Records Height/Weight/Growth Skills in Thinking Communication & Language Large/Small Muscles Social/Emotional Development All of this information is important for your child’s continued learning and readiness for future school success. Screening is required for entrance into kindergarten. However, this is not a kindergarten readiness screening. Ideally, this screening will take place when a child is 3 years old. Gardening with Natives with Special Focus on Pollinators and Wildlife Are you interested in adding native plants to your landscape? Do you enjoy watching wildlife, bees or birds but have trouble with rabbits or deer munching your precious ornamentals? This class will focus on plants that attract a variety of wildlife and beneficial insects, but help to keep the deer and rabbits from destroying plants you appreciate most. Gear up for Growing Season with Indoor Seed Starting Do you have an interest in gardening, and you're looking to take your skills to a new level? Have you considered starting your own plants, but weren't sure what varieties and when to start them? In this class we'll discuss seed selection, timing, and methods on starting several common vegetable and flower varieties, as well as pre and post-transplant care. Intro to Honey Beekeeping 1 Have you thought about becoming a beekeeper, or pondered about having a beehive on your property? This class is a two part series on honeybees and their care in the Northland. Honey beekeeping is a fascinating hobby, but there are some key concepts to caring for them throughout our changing seasons. If you are interested in learning the basics of beekeeping, the first session will focus on introductory beekeeping, helping you to decide if this hobby is right for you. Intro to Honey Beekeeping II will focus on the more in-depth details of honey production, swarming, and over-wintering. You must take Intro to Honey Beekeeping I to register for the second session. Medication Authorization Form Permission Form for Program Attendance - This form is for students who will be leaving Kids & Co to attend another educational or recreation program located within the school (i.e. summer school, Friday homework help, choir, etc) Immunization Exemption Form - If your child is not immunized for whatever reason (i.e. religion, personal choice, etc.) his form has to be competed and notarized and turned into the coordinator before your child may attend Kids & Co.

If your family is eligible for free or reduced lunch, you may qualify for a Pathway 1 Early Learning Scholarship or Pathway 2 Early Learning Scholarship which would cover 100% of tuition.
